Our Ethos
Lishman's of Ilkley sources pork entirely from established Yorkshire farms in support of regional farmers who share the business's commitment to outstanding quality. This guarantees total hands-on control over the entire supply process.
Owner David Lishman is a true champion of the "let’s keep it local" ethos. He explains: "Due to some strange EU rules, bacon and ham can carry the British label, even though the pigs have been produced in Denmark, France or any other country. This causes confusion for the British shopper and leaves UK pig farmers in an impossible position."
"We remain fully committed to sourcing locally produced, fully traceable pork at a time when the British market is flooded with bacon and ham from pigs raised outside this country to a lower welfare standard than those at home."
